PROJECT SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETED: "Commercialisation of..."
The company
The primary objective of the project was to strengthen the company's business activities through the commercialisation of innovative solutions in the design and manufacture of electric lifts. The project introduced a new approach to lift development that enables manufacturing optimisation and active client participation in the design process, applying optimal technical and energetic parameters. By investing in equipment, human resources, and marketing activities, the company has increased its production capacity, market competitiveness, and resilience to market disruptions, creating the prerequisites for long-term and sustainable growth.
The project resulted in the commercialisation of four innovative products and services:
Space-optimised lift with a central mechanism for lift shafts with one or two opposite entrances – Model 1.
Space-optimised lift with a cantilever mechanism for lift shafts with entrances on adjacent sides – Model 2.
Technical consultancy service as the foundation of the "turnkey" delivery principle.
Virtual manual relational 3D model for lift design and optimisation.
In addition to product development, several process innovations were introduced:
Establishment of a new technical consultancy service process for selecting the optimal lift.
Implementation of a commercial-technical consultancy process from initial inquiry to order.
Introduction of automatic lift customisation to specific project requirements.
Establishment of automated production for space-optimised lifts.
Implementation of an automated "scalar approach" to production.
These newly introduced processes represent modern organisational and production methods, enabling a global market reach while reducing logistics costs.
The innovative products are based on new technical solutions that allow for maximum utilization of the lift shaft space. Model 1 utilizes a mechanism located on two opposite sides of the shaft and is suitable for most buildings, especially those not originally designed for lift installation. Model 2 uses a mechanism located on one side of the shaft, allowing for installation in specific buildings with adjacent entrances, enabling the equipping of facilities where lift installation was previously impossible.
Both models were developed using a virtual manual relational 3D model, which allows for multiple virtual assemblies, evaluations, and optimisations before physical production. Prototypes were tested under real operating conditions and met all functional and safety standards (EN81-20/50, EN81-21, EN81-28, and EN81-70). Through the implementation of this project, these innovations have reached Technology Readiness Level (TRL) 9.
The positive effects of the project on the company's operations are multifaceted:
Expanded range of products and services.
Improved work organisation and interdepartmental coordination.
Increased level of production automation.
Enabled customer participation in lift design.
Achieved more competitive pricing and stable revenue growth.
Successful entry into global markets.
The project also contributed to the green transition and business digitalisation. The use of recycled steel in production has reduced the need for new materials by 15%, energy consumption by 20%, and waste by 10%, while the number of required working hours has been reduced by 40%. Digitalisation was achieved through the introduction of technical preparation software, a web configurator, automated production of steel components, and an ERP system.
The results of the project represent a significant improvement over existing solutions and hold great potential for both domestic and international markets. By commercialising these innovations, MLC ELECTRONIC d.o.o. has secured sustainable growth and further strengthened its position in the global market.
